Little Italy

For my last night in Melbourne, I ventured out to Lygon Street, famous for its Italian restaurants.  Many, many moons ago it is where the early Italians settled in Melbourne. It did feel like I had been transported to Europe.

Am I still in Oz?

However, mama would have not be impressed with the pizzas!!!

I envisioned authentic thin crust pizza baked in a wood fire oven; instead I might as well have ordered from Pizza hut :o(

Putting the average food aside, it was lovely to dine outside and enjoy the beautiful warm summer evening.   I’m also sure if you spent a few more dollars (my pizza only cost me $11) the quality of food would be more up to mamas standard :o)

Info: To get to there I caught the tram along Swanston Street to Melbourne University, then walked 2 blocks to Lygon Street.
