Bats and Beasties in Khao Yai National Park

My lovely new millipede bracelet at Khao Yai National Park

I can’t believe my time in Thailand is over.  Last stop before Bangkok was Khao Yai National Park.  It was a bit of an adventure getting to our guest house.  At Pak Chong train station a tout approached us; instead of my normal tact of completely ignoring her I thought it would be more convenient to say yes.  Big mistake!!!!!  We got driven to a hotel just on the outskirts … Continue reading

Cycling Around Sukhothai

Frangipanis in full bloom at Sukhothai

Spent a fun day in the old city of Sukhothai cycling around the ruins.  I won’t pretend to know anything about the site, so today I will just do a photo blog. Recommendation: We stayed in the new city and caught a songthaew to the old city, however I think it would have been nicer staying in the old city.  There are plenty of restaurants and food stalls there to … Continue reading

A Day with the Hill Tribes

Atta from the Akha Tribe near Chiang Rai

Chiang Mai

White Tiger Behind Bars at Chiang Mai Night Safari

On Monday evening we visited Chiang Mai Night Safari. My heart was very sad to see so many … Continue reading

Bottle Beach, Koh Pha Ngan

Bottle Beach, Koh Pha Ngan

Gele and I found paradise on Koh Pha Ngan, at beautiful Bottle Beach.  A tiny beach unspoilt by 1000’s of partying tourists the island is renowned for.  However, there were no swan towels at our simple, wooden bungalow, but the stunning views made up for it!!! A very lazy few days.  We met 2 lovely Aussie girls; if anyone visits Bottle Bay in the next 3 months, you’ll probably find … Continue reading
